Colbert Nation Forums to remain open

The Issue

Keep Colbert Nation Forums ON:

UPDATES AS OF TODAY, MAY 4, 2012, The FORUMS are GONE from the main Colbert Nation Community Page:

Clicking "Enter The Forums" and/or "Colbert Forums" icon on the top left of the Community page
( http://community.colbertnation.com/)  will now link you to the Facebook/Comedy Central/Colbert Report Generic site, nothing more of a cascade of video clips and episodes of the show, with only the room for typing in a few words about what you watched and/or to give thumbs up. Not exaclty a Forum, nor a blog...

Very disappointing... but we need to go on, and continue to sign the petition. The more people voice their opinion, the more chances we have to be heard, and to stand a chance that the forums will re-open.

Since 2007, Colbert Nation and even before that, the Colboard (2006), meant a reference point to me, a ‘comedic sanctuary’ I am a proud citizen of.

The Colbert Nation Forum and The Daily Show Forum are a place to play in the most positive of creative ways with like minded friends and Colbert Nation Heroes.
WHY SHUTTING THEM DOWN?

Colbert Nation to me has been and it is a virtual improvisational stage, where I met wonderful people that have something in common with me: their love and appreciation for The Colbert Report and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. A stage where everyone could express themselves from our guts, souls, minds, without being shut down (most of the times) by anyone… A virtual community that actually had and has a beating heart and that came together in Washington DC on October 30, 2010 for a face-to-face, for the Rally To Restore Sanity and/or Fear.

I refuse to believe that the forums were useless because they didn't have enough traffic, therefore they didn't generate enough revenues to justify the expenses. What you are not putting a value on is the dedication and the loyalty of thousands of forum members out there. VIACOM is chipping away at your base, throwing away a group of loyal supporters.

Taking the forum down for solely economic reasons seems to go totally against the spirit of Colbert the character, Colbert Nation and The Daily Show Forums.

If the forums will definitely be shut down, the decisions makers will have let down over 2.5 millions Colbert Nation and The Daily Show fans and that is unforgivable.

PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION TO PREVENT THE SHUT DOWN OF THE FORUMS! PASS THIS AROUND!
THANKS,
Warsucks
