The G8/NATO meeting is coming to Chicago in May. So are demonstrators from the US and around the world who want to peaceably assemble, publicly speak, and to petition these world governors for redress of grievances, as our First Amendment guarantees.

The overwhelming majority of the demonstrators, such as Occupy, are dedicated to non-violent expression of grievances. They have proven their dedication to non-violence and peaceable assembly. Because a few demonstrators or infiltrators may try to use violence it should not lead to removing the the rights of all.

There are better ways than attempting to stifle dissent. It is on Chicago and America to show we can do better. Don't let this be like 1968.
