In addition to Ivan Murray, Darrell Murray, 33, of Sicklerville and Dannon Williams, 31 have also been charged in keeping 37 dogs and 9 puppies  substandard housing. Additional charges were filed against Ivan Murray for having unlicensed and unaltered tethered dogs as well as not keeping the dogs behind the home per the local ordinance. The police have stated the the New Jersey ASPCA is looking into filing animal cruelty charges but did not further specify who would be charged.  To date, no charges have been filed against any of the men for animal cruelty. Thankfully, the dogs have been rescued.

Imagine a burned out trailer now abandoned leaving random junk tossed away just like the pit bulls left like trash.  Don't imagine, this is an actual scenario in Winslow County, NJ.  Over two dozen pit bulls left chained outside this trailer with inadequate food, water, or human contact, suffering in 90° heat.  According to the Winslow Township blog (http://winslowtownshipdogs.blogspot.com/), there are multiple ordinance violations on this property. In June, the dogs’ horrific living conditions were reported to the Winslow Township Animal Control.  Ironically, the property just across the street was raided for dog fighting in 2005. Based on the 20 summons issued to Ivan V. Murray, this is not the first time for a complaint.  Murray, who resides in Berlin, New Jersey has yet to appear in court, including the latest no show on June 11, 2011. His next court appearance is schedule July 6, 2011.  To date, nothing has been issued to Mr. Murray for his non-court appearances to answer for the multiple code violations.  For more information on the multiple Winslow ordinances that Mr. Murray is violating:  http://winslowtownshipdogs.blogspot.com/   It seems Mr. Murray has local connections. His uncle who recently retired worked with the code violations department.  This petition respectfully requests that a bench warrant be issued for Ivan V. Murray and that all of the dogs be taken into custody until a complete, unbiased third part investigation can be conducted. We also request that the dogs are not returned to Mr. Murray until all of the violations have been adequately addressed to the satisfaction of an unbiased third party and he is monitored frequently to ensure compliance.  Should Mr. Murray be found guilty of any cruelty to animals charges, we insist that he is not to receive his dogs back.
