Support your local farmers by purchasing one food item every week from a local farm. Here is how you will be helping:

Protecting Local Economies: Large agribusinesses have not only driven nearly 5 million farms out of business since 1935, but also led to a consolidation of food supply. With the money no longer staying in town, local economy becomes weaker and a source of local jobs is lost. Furthermore, consumers will no longer have the option of buying nutritional and rich food.

Environment: The distance between grocery stores and farms that supply their produce amounts to 1500 miles on average. As a result, food transportation requires a substantial amount of fossil fuel consumption and plastic packaging to maintain its freshness.
