Bring Manuel Home

Greetings,

Christina Matias-Arroyo was married to Manuel Matias on April 26, 2001 in the United States. They have a three year old son named Diego. Christina was born and raised in the U.S. and has lived here all her life. Her husband Manuel came to the U.S. when he was 19 years old.

Before they were married, Manuel began the process to apply for U.S. citizenship. Three years ago they hired a lawyer to help expedite the process. However, the lawyer did not accomplish anything. All he did was take their money.

In May of 2008, Manuel, was arrested by immigration officers at the Matias home in front their son Diego and Christina. Since Manuel's deportation, Christina and her son have faced tremendous hardships. Christina and her son were forced to go from two incomes to one. She is basically a single mother and small business owner of a salon working six days a week with very limited child care. She has had to file for bankruptcy and get government assistance.

Christina needs legal help to open her husband's "closed" case , due to the American Consulate's office in Jaurez, Mexico. Manuel and Christina were both paying income taxes when he was deported, and always have. They were trying to do all the right things.

Diego desparately misses his father. Their lives are at a standstill. Please help them if you can, or at least PLEASE vote for the CIR ASAP Act (Family Unity Act).

Thank you.
