About this Petition Petition Letter

This petition asks for signatures that support Colorado government officials banning the fur trade in our state.  The fur trade is unneccesary and cruel.  Its horrific details are often overlooked but the reality is, these animals are often skinned alive because that is when the fur is at its best.  The disturbing truth is that many animals show signs of life such as breathing and blinking for up to twenty minutes after being skinned alive.  Why would we humans allow this type of suffering I don't know but please join me in fighting against this trade.  All this suffering for what?  A fancy new coat someone can wear once.  We have so many alternatives to fur today too that real fur is unneccesary.  Please sign this petition and ask our local governement officials to put a stop to this cruel and abusive trade that we use for fashion.

We the undersigned are asking Colorado government officials to take action against the fur trade and ban it from our state. The cruelty of this trade is uncomprehending. Most animals are skinned alive since that is when the fur is the best, but many of them show signs of life after being skinned such as breathing or blinking. We are asking you to help stop this needless suffering of so many animals for the use of the fashion industry. Since there are so many alternatives to fur, banning real fur shouldn't be an issue. Please take action and do something to stop the suffering of these innocent creatures. I sincerely appreciate your time in reading this letter and hope it made an impact.
