I just signed the following petition addressed to: Bank Of America asking them to donate a Military families transition home to the Captain Joseph House Foundation
----------------
We write to express our support for the Captain Joseph House Foundation and its founder, Betsy Reed Schultz. As supporters and veterans, we know that there is no courage more steadfast and enduring than that of a servicemembers' mother. We know all too well that the families of our fallen comrades bear the heaviest burdens of war. We believe that all of us share a duty to collectively help shoulder that burden.
The Captain Joseph House will serve as a refuge and new beginning for the families of the fallen: a place to honor their loved one while crafting new traditions and building new memories. Captain Joseph House will offer the immediate family members of fallen servicemembers the opportunity to spend time away from their home and spend time with the families of those in the same situation, allowing them a time of shared reflection and healing in Port Angeles, Washington.
The House is named for Army Special Forces Captain Joseph Schultz, who gave his life in Afghanistan on May 29, 2011. Extraordinarily talented, courageous, cheerful, and dedicated, Joseph’s life touched many. After 9/11, Joseph sacrificed a promising political career to become an Army Officer, having served President Clinton and California Governor Gray Davis. He went on to earn his Green Beret and the respect of the Army’s finest. He died as he lived – leading from the front.
We stand with Betsy in her commitment, and ask that Bank of America donate the house to the Captain Joseph House Foundation. And, had we fallen on the battlefield ourselves, we would hope that our families would have access to exactly the type of program Betsy is building.
Give Back to our Military Families
