A new substance labled "bath salts" is being sold in head shops, truck stops, corner stores, and through the internet. Since the begining month of 2011 there have been over 200 "balth salt" related calls to emergency rooms across the country. There have been reports of people who have used this drug of having severe hallucinations and even being linked to suicides. "One man barricaded himself in an attic with a rifle, vowing to "kill the monsters before they kill me," while another user vowed to remove their own liver with a mechanical pencil." - medicinenet.com. This drug has been banned in some states but is still completely legal in others. This product is highly dangerous and legal action must be taken.

Ban the substance known as "bath salts"

To whom it may concern

I'm starting this petition in hopes to ban the product known as "bath salts". This substance has become quite an epidemic since the being of this year 2011. The reports that have come from the use of this product are beyond terrifying. After my best friend committed suicide in the month of April I decided to do some real research of this substance that I knew he had been using. As I began my search I realized that there were hundreds of stories just like his. It scares me to think that in just a few short months of this product being around so many people have experienced it's tragic side effects. As a concerned citizen and friend I ask that something please be done to stop this product from being available for purchase so that no one else has to experience the tragedy that so many others have gone through already.
