The USDA has the authority to revoke an exhibitor's license if he or she is not in compliance with the federal Animal Welfare Act (AWA) or has made false or fraudulent statements to the agency. Testimony, photos, and video evidence show that for years, Ringling Bros. Circus has engaged in and continues to engage in a consistent and well-documented pattern of making false statements to the agency and abusing animals in violation of the AWA.

Please sign below to ask the USDA to revoke Ringling's exhibitor's license. For more information, please visit:

Dear Sir or Madam,

The USDA has the authority - and duty - to revoke an exhibitor's license if he or she is not in compliance with the federal Animal Welfare Act (AWA) or has made false or fraudulent statements to the agency.

Testimony, photos, and video evidence show that for years, Ringling Bros. Circus has engaged in and continues to engage in a consistent and well-documented pattern of lying to the USDA and abusing animals in violation of the AWA. Ringling routinely tortures elephants with sharp metal bullhooks and electric prods and pulls still-nursing baby elephants from their mothers to be violently trained and sent on the road. When traveling, elephants routinely spend between 25 and 70 consecutive hours in cramped, filthy boxcars. The prolonged chaining causes unusually high rates of osteoarthritis, lameness, foot abscesses, and other serious and painful conditions of the feet, legs, and joints.

Please, I call upon the USDA to revoke Ringling Bros.' exhibitor's license at once. There is no dearth of evidence against this reprehensible outfit, and the publicly-funded USDA has an obligation, by law, to enforce its own policies. Please act quickly to stop the abuse of innocent animals by revoking Ringling's license.

Thank you kindly,
