What’s in your shampoo? Your shave cream? Your toothpaste? Your cosmetics?

Well, you may be surprised to learn that even some of the most trusted brands are using ingredients that have been found to be harmful, even toxic.  That’s right – some of these ingredients have been linked to all kinds of health problems, including birth defects and even cancer.

How could this be?  Currently, the FDA has banned or restricted the use of only 11 ingredients for use in cosmetics, while Europe has banned or restricted 1,100 ingredients for being dangerous, or even toxic.

Together, we can change the industry.

By signing this petition, you are letting retailers know that you will not continue to buy products that contain harmful ingredients – and are asking them to add a section for Safe Beauty products!

Provide SAFE BEAUTY Options In Your Stores

Greetings,

We are writing to you to ask that you add a Safe Beauty section to your stores.

Well, you may be surprised to learn that even some of the most trusted brands you carry are using ingredients that have been found to be harmful, even toxic. That’s right – some of these ingredients have been linked to all kinds of health problems, including birth defects and even cancer.

According to a CBS News Report, the body’s largest organ is the skin, and up to 60 percent of certain ingredients found in personal care products, including face moisturizers, body lotions and bath gels, will be absorbed into the bloodstream and accumulate in target organs over a period of years.

Currently, the FDA has banned or restricted the use of only 11 ingredients for use in cosmetics, while Europe has banned or restricted 1,100 ingredients for being dangerous, or even toxic.

While “Natural” products were once thought to be a safe answer; however, the Federal Drug Administration does not have a true regulated definition for “natural products”. Some brands are sprinkling trace levels of a few natural extracts and calling it ‘natural.’ This has created a false sense of security among consumers.

Because of the lack of regulation for beauty products in the U.S., many brands, even some of the largest and most trusted brands you carry, actually produce products containing ingredients found to be harmful for distribution in the U.S., while producing safer, cleaner versions of the same product for sale in other countries.

YOU can help change that. You have to ask yourself, “if a brand is already producing safe products for other countries, why not for your stores – for your customers, right here in the U.S.?”

What can you do? We simply ask that you add a section for Safe Beauty – offering brands that are free of these dangerous ingredients like: Parabens, Glycols, PEG's, Lauryl/Laureth Sulfates, 1,4 Dioxane, Hydroqiunone, Petrochemicals and Synthetic Fragrances.

At a time where our country is facing higher rates of cancer, reproductive harm is on the rise, and toxic chemicals used in personal care products are ending up in our bodies and the breast milk of our mothers – we need your help to offer options to safe options to consumers, so we can minimize, even eliminate the unnecessary exposure of dangerous chemicals to our bodies.
