A petition asking Congress to create a law mandating all courts in the United States to establish evening hours (i.e. 5pm-9pm) to accomodate working people. Every working person in America will have to go into court for one matter or another, whether it be jury duty or to handle a small claim, a civil or criminal matter. Working people should not be required to lose pay or use vacation time as a result of the restricted daytime hours of the American Justice System.
LAW MANDATING EVENING HOURS IN ALL U.S. COURTS
Dear Decision Maker,
I am writing to ask Congress to create a law mandating all courts in the United States to establish evening hours (i.e. 5pm-9pm) to accomodate the schedule of working people. Every working person in America will have to go into court for one matter or another, whether it be jury duty or to handle a small claim, a civil or criminal matter. Working people should not be required to lose pay or use vacation time as a result of the restricted daytime hours of the American Justice System. Equal protection under the law, means equal access to the law, and I believe this includes the hours in which the court is open to the public.
So please create a law and ask your colleagues to support a law mandating all courts in the U.S. to establish evening hours whereby normal court functions including trials, filings, mediation etc can commence.
