Why This Is Important

School is officially back in session for many students across the country. While this is an exciting time for students to meet up with friends they haven't seen in awhile, it is no fun for the thousands of animals who will be used in cruel classroom experiments at U.S. colleges and universities.

For the past 30 years, Bucknell University Professor Owen Floody has been drilling holes into the skulls of female hamsters, damaging their brains, and observing the injuries' effects on the hamsters' sexual behavior. Once the experiments are done, these sensitive, intelligent hamsters are killed, and their brains are dissected.

It is time for Professor Floody to abandon this outdated and deadly exercise. There are many humane non-animal teaching methods that are readily available and used in courses similar to his at other universities.

Please take a moment of your time to speak up for the hamsters who are suffering in these cruel experiments at Bucknell University.

Thank you for all that you've done, and will continue to do, to help animals.
