Tens of thousands of women and children are trafficked into and around the US each year. Many will be prostituted with little hope of rescue. Every day these individuals are sold in classified ads in newspapers and online under the headings of Massage and Escort Services. Recently Craig's List shut down their Adult Services listings. Several major newspapers have also taken this great step.  The Asbury Park Press is a newspaper in Central New Jersey. It is owned by Gannett, an international media and marketing company. We are asking The Asbury Park Press to end the potential for their involvement in Human Trafficking and to shut down the Massage and Escort advertising in their publication.

Please remove your advertising that can facilitate Human Trafficking

Greetings,

The US Department of State estimates that 17000 people, mostly women and children, are trafficked into the United States each year. Many end up being prostituted, against their will, along with hundreds of thousand of other women and children. Some are sold through classified advertising online and in local papers. The advertisements used for this purpose usually offer massage or escort services. Until these advertisements are removed, The Asbury Park Press risks facilitating the trafficking of innocent women and children.
I am asking the Asbury Park Press do the socially responsible thing, regardless of the loss of revenue, and remove Massage and Escort advertising from its publications.
