Dear friends,
with surprise I found out today, that Amazon Germany and US sells Lobster, fur coats and Foie Gras.
Most of you know, that animals are treated with no respect in an unexplainable cruel way for fur. The conditions in almost every fur farm is pure horror. Not only that the wild caught animals suffer tremendous pain in the traps(google the pictures if you dare), even the animals bred just for this purpose live in tiny metal cages(sometimes with more than one animal in it) covered with faeces, with small amounts of food and often lacking sufficient amounts of drinking water. The killing methods are disgusting like ramming a metall rod in the anus of the animals producing a(sometimes not) deadly electric shock or using exhaust gas and injections with poison. Most times, these killings are performed by ordinary persons without the control of a veterinarian and know knowledge at all. A huge amount of animals, especially in Asia or estern Europe is skinned alive, starting with chopping the paws off and tearing the fur from the animal which after this procedure lives several minutes more until death.
The problem with lobster is well known. Although some sellers of live lobster cool them down before boiling them to provide a less painfull if not painless death but usually the lobster goes into the boiling water without any anethesia at all causing the lobster a death struggle for up to 15-20 minutes in which they try to escape the pot.
Foie gras is a so called delicacy. It is made from the liver of geese or ducks which have been force fed with corn and pork lard. Several times a day a hose is rammed deep into their esophagus and the above mentioned mixture is administered. Not only that it is painful and uncomfortable for the animals(imagine YOU are force fed several times a day!), it causes often serious damages like bleeding of inner organs, bone fractures, heart attacks and others. Because only male animals are used, the female chicks(30 billion!!!annually) are shredded alive. The animals suffer extremely until the day of slaughter. Please note, that this force feeding causes liver illness, that means it gets bigger and undergoes a pathological change so you are eating in fact a sick organ which is usually not allowed in Germany to be sold according to existing hygiene rules. It also hurts other existing laws. In 2008 the pathogen causing botulism was found in foie gras of one producer.
Many countries have forbidden the production but some, like Germany, allow the Import of it- what a shame.
As you can see, all these things have one in common-They are pure animal cruelty. Do you want to buy in a shop, that sells this stuff side by side with childrens books, books about vegetarian diet and animal rights? Is it ok that such a huge company like AMAZON allows such crap to be sold, spreading the message:"Hey it´s ok to buy animal products that have been made with animal cruelty!" making the world loose their last pieces of compassion? Do you want to live in such a world or do you want that your children live in a world where every day a valuable part of ethics is lost? For money? This can´t be our imagination of a world we wanna live in and if you believe in god, this is certainly not the way he wanted his creation to to be treated. We have to stand up, raising our voices and say NO! It´s enough!
We are all part of a wonderful planet that has so much gifts to offer. We are all part of one big family, be it man or animal, plant or the elements. Thats something we can´t deny. We are all equal when it comes to pain, fear, love or sorrow and a soul is the most important part we have in common. So lets treat the animals too in a way we want to be treated. Look into your hearts and listen to your conscience. Then please, sign this petition, cancel your Amazon account, share this link and spread the message. In the name of those poor creatures I beg you to go that way with us. Thank you.
