Mission
Our goals include shoreline habitat protection and restoration, pollution prevention, and putting our region's economy and environment on a sustainable course. We accomplish these goals through public education and involvement programs, policy analysis and advocacy, and partnerships with a wide range of organizations, agencies and businesses.
Programs
Our programs focus on education and involvement, habitat restoration, and policy advocacy. People For Puget Sound has some 5,000 members, supporters and volunteers across the 12-county Puget Sound region. Kids For Puget Sound and other school programs aim to teach the region's kids about the wonders of Puget Sound; ShoreWatch is a neighborhood-based program that works with private shoreline residential property owners. Our policy advocacy is primarily focused on strengthening shoreline protection and pollution prevention through state and local laws. And our hands-on habitat restoration identifies priority areas for community-based restoration and involves community members to restore and steward Puget Sound's precious shorelines and beaches.
