This petition is lodged In regards to  Katy Perry's music video 'Dark Horse'; hosted by KatyPerryVEVO, on YouTube.

The video is considered as highly controversial to its viewers as a result of its portrayal of blasphemy.

At 01:15 into the video Dark Horse; a man is shown being burned, whilst wearing a pendant (also burned) forming the word 'Allah', which is the arabic word for God.

Such goes to show, that blasphemy is clearly conveyed in the video, since Katy Perry (who appears to be representing an opposition of God) engulfs the believer and the word God in flames.

This is the reason for lodging the petition so that people from different walks of life, different religions and from different parts of the world, agree that the video promotes blasphemy, using the name of God in an irrelevant and distasteful manner would be considered inappropriate by any religion

We hope that the video itself depicting such images is removed. Such acts are not condoned nor tolerated, we hope YouTube will remove the video

I cannot thank each individual enough, for the contribution made. Your support and impact has brought attention to the matter and has not gone unnoticed.

I feel that the impact we have made and the total number of signatures obtained does convey just how worthy a cause this is, it is a significant step towards the right direction.

A statement in a BBC article read: "Perry's record label and YouTube have yet to respond to BBC requests for a comment on the petition".

This clearly shows that our voice has been heard, having gained so much publicity on the matter and by getting everybody talking we have put the message out there that such inappropriate material will not be accepted.

Although the petition will be closed, the cause shall not be abandoned and I feel we have accomplished a lot in a peaceful manner as intended and I look forward to hearing on the progress made.

I would also like to thank Change.org for giving me a platform to raise the issue.

Firstly thank you everyone for the continued support I am most humbled, also can everybody please donate for Syria just £2 thanks I've posted a link below.

There has been a mixed response to this discussion some For and some Against many people comment why was he watching the video in the first place? My answer

I'm a regular 22 year old I do watch music videos this particular one I didn't watch it was brought to my attention and felt disgusted by it. Also even if I was a devout Muslim that shouldn't be watching "sexed up videos" this does not take away the fact that the name of the Lord was used in an inappropriate, manner what do you expect us to not watch it and turn a blind eye? Unlikely.

Secondly a lot of people are saying this is really minor and trivial; my answer to you is it may be minor to you but defending and raising the name of my Lord means everything to me and secondly if we do turn a blind eye and not watch the videos it will just continue to happen.

Firstly I would like to say I am not representative of all Muslims and I will not and do not claim this. This petition and anything I post are my views and opinions alone and other people also share this opinion Muslims and Non Muslims alike.

Here is a short video on a part of my faith and what Allah and praising him means to me.

Daily Mail has covered the story, I'd firstly like to thank everybody for the support and signing the petition. I would also like to say in making this petition my intention is not to cause controversy or to cause hate but rather to gain support in having the video removed. I could never have imagined the support we would gain so thanks again guys. For all the negative comments out there I'd like to say; faith is something people hold very dear to themselves; Muslims Christians Jew's Hindu's or any faith alike, and when something like this happens it's inappropriate.

I request anybody supporting or not supporting the petition when writing a comment anywhere please write thoughtfully and do not offend or use obscene language.

In terms of where things are at the moment I have contacted YouTube and Vevo and not had a response yet.
