Hi folks,
I am sending this along to you because one of the youth organizers from the Youth Justice Coalition at Chuco's Justice Center got arrested on Cinco de Mayo during a house party he was hosting. He is a tireless activist in South LA and a punk/anarchist music promoter and really fun to organize with. Julio is a DREAM Act eligible student and currently in LA County Jail on an ICE hold meaning he could face deportation. Please make the calls Danae suggests below and consider donating money or volunteer time if you have relevant skills to helping with the case.
In solidarity (and for a day when youth don't live in fear of this crap), YJC NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT!

On May 5th, one of our youth organizers got arrested in front of his house. He is currently in county jail, and has an ICE hold on him. He is an undocumented youth, trying to finish school, and is an eligible DREAM student!

Julio is an emerging leader with so much creativity. He is a young leader constantly striving to create a better community for the next generations. He actively outreaches to different high schools to speak to youth around issues that most affects them and he also serves as a mentor for the high school students and gives them advice about college. Julio loves music and he brings that to organizing. He creates venues at community spaces where youth could express themselves through music. He’s very skilled at organizing music events, and his shows have had positive impacts on the youth and their communities. Julio’s actions overall have impacted our organization in a very holistic and positive way. AND THATS WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT TO DROP THE ICE HOLD ON HIM!

I know someone who cares about the world around them and the need for a better world when i see one, Julio is definitely one of those people and behind bars is not a place for a young outstanding human being trying to help humanity. There racist, elitist laws are what keep real change from happening and each acknowledgement of this injustice only furthers are chances of destroying the tyranny for ever.

Julio is a good friend of mine, i have known him for a few years now, and this guy has always been positive and has always been able to cheer a person up and look on the brighter side of things. I dont understand why the Immigration and Customs has to deport an innocent man.

This man will bring a brighter future, and we can't leave that hope to rot. I know I'm not from the same country, nor do I live in the country Julio is in, I just want to make a difference because I know something must be done to a corrupted country.
