Your Bill of Rights may be VOID!!

On December 2, 2011 Our Senate passed SB 1867 to the detriment of our civil liberties and the Bill of Rights. They hid an onerous infringement of our rights in a defense spending bill. It will give this president and every future president the ability to arrest and detain any American Citizen for any reason that they determine to be treasonous. If the Attorney General, Secretary of State, or the President of these United States decides, arbitrarily, that my posting this petition is treason I could disappear and be detained indeterminately. Your right to an attorney, Miranda Rights, or to even know why you have been charged with treason will be suspended. There will be no such thing as a Writ of Habeas Corpus, the body of evidence, that every American Citizen has become accustomed to expect. The Bill of Rights will be no longer.
"Section 1031 of the NDAA reads: “Congress affirms that the authority of the President to use all necessary and appropriate force … includes the authority for the Armed Forces of the United States to detain covered persons…. [including] [d]etention under the law of war without trial....” This “indefinite detention” section hands over to the Executive Branch the power to have the military arrest U.S. citizens. No trial needed. Simple suspicion would suffice."

That any Senator would even consider signing such an abomination against our Civil Rights is unconscionable. By the way it passed 93 in favor 7 against. George Bush assassinated our rights under the Homeland Security Act under the umbrella of our "protection" from terrorism after September 11, 2001, but this Bill, if passed by Congress, would bury the body of Civil Liberty. I do not want to live in a country like Russia under Stalin where people could disappear off the street never to be heard from again. Do you want to live in a country where you can't speak your mind about our own country? Do you want your neighbor spying on you and then turn you in for treason because your dog made a mess in his yard? Do you want to live in fear of your own children if you don't buy them the latest phone that they would tell a teacher or a military "cop" that you are a dissenter of the status quo? Am I paranoid? I don't think so. It's time to stop this madness in Washington before we all become prisoners in our own country. Please sign this petition and tell Congress to stop infringing on our Civil Liberties and uphold the Constitution of the United States.

Obama completely ignores section 1031 in his comments. Leaving further clouds surrounding the intent of this section. Why?

Congress passed the National Defense Appropriation Act which included giving the authority to the president to use the military to arrest American Citizens. Obama had said that he would veto it. He couldn't wait to sign it and dashed off to his "Holiday" vacation in Hawaii.

The following includes recent information about this issue which is part of the NDAA bill now passed by Congress. The NDAA is the National Defense Authorization Act and it's main purpose is to beef up previously passed and authorized military spending. What is objectionable and a threat to our American way of life and the expectation of true and fair treatment under the Constitution and the Bill of Rights is a clause hidden in the bill. One newly added phrase exempts American Citizens and another gives the executive branch the ability to waive that provision based on National Security. Typical Congressional Double-Speak for; "We'll do what we want." I personally have never been a gambler and when it comes to our all-intrusive government I refuse to leave this ability open to interpretation. Mark

This You Tube Video emphasizes the importance of this issue visually. It's about 5.5 minutes long and done in a very unusual way. Please take the time to watch the video and post the link on your FB page, send it in emails to your family and friends, twitter, every where that you can get more exposure so that Congress has to pay attention to this issue. They sneaked it by the world and it's undoubtedly the most important issue in this administration and for our future, the future of our country, and our children and grandchildren.

It is unconstitutional and unconscionable that the US military can arrest and detain ANY United States citizen, and make them disappear indefinitely. This cannot and will not stand, and it is the responsibility of the American people to reverse this Freedom-robbing "law".
