Stop ruining the music industry.

Hunter S. Thompson once said: "The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side."

This, unfortunately couldn't be closer to the truth. There are hundreds of thousands of talented, hard working acts across the country that fail to garner any recognition as artists due to the approach the general public take towards music. The mindless masses wish for short, catchy, brainless pop music... And that is all. Programmes like X-factor play a major part in this; producing talentless crud that in turn all achieve infamy as one hit wonders. MTV is equally to blame, "video surely has killed the radio star". Gone are the days of real music. This needs to be stopped once and for all. Talent and experiment isn't properganda, it doesn't need repressing, it is expression of the ultimate; the human spirit.

This is important to me because music is important. I'm angry about the way the music industry is not about music, but just another commodity marketed and manipulated by a bunch of money men whose profit-driven self-interest damages musical diversity and creativity. Thank you for starting this petition.

music needs to change it's to radio friendly and to put it bluntly everything sounds the same or is covered. Its seems no one is interested in making new music anymore (other than rock bands) they only care about money. THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE

so much generic tat music and young people are just not exposed or educated about quality music. i think there are many talented people out there. but these commerical industries do nothing to promote grass roots and underground music. Money and fame is the focus !!

It's about time shows like the X-Factor were banned. Not only are they ruining the music industry, they're also teaching people (through the way in which the "contestants" are treated) that bullying and humiliating others is acceptable. It needs to stop now!
