Even though Women’s Studies is no longer the hot topic it once was, the questions raised by scholars and the general public are still important to research. The Woodrow Wilson fellowships have provided important support to ensure that scholarly research continues to be part of academia. This support should not be abandoned. If the problem is funding, then funding these fellowships should be a priority in your development activities.

This is one of the most important sources of funding for scholars working in fields related to the history of women's contributions to cultures around the world. As lesser sources for such work dwindle in these hard economic times, it becomes even more crucial for the Woodrow Wilson Foundation to sustain its traditional support.
