Whitko High School: Remove Cheerleading coach

To make this short and sweet we will just say that if you are getting this, chances are that you already know the things that have happened and continue to happen with the Whitko High School cheerleading team. The things that these young girls have experienced both in the present and the past are completely unthinkable. Not only are there things that regularly occur that make these young girls feel terrible about themselves, there is also not one bit of structure or fairness when it comes to how this cheerleading team has been run for quite some time. Have you ever heard of a school where there is no unbiased vote when trying out for the team, or where your child can make varsity regardless of her qualifications? A coach is supposed to be a mentor and someone that a child can look up to, respect, and learn from. NO ONE deserves the privledge of being a coach when they cause even one child to feel torn down, defeated, or like less of a person.

Children should be encouraged and guided to do their best, not yelled at, called names, and made to feel bad.

I just can't believe this goes on and it seems that it is being allowed. This needs to stop and there needs to be consequences

It is unfortunate that the "adults" in this situation act more like children themselves. Bullying and inappropriate behavior from ANYONE should not be tolerated in any school activity, especially from an authoritative adult. We are going through a similar situation and the bullying and manipulative behavior is out of control! In our case, the "coach" doesn't have kids of her own and doesn't have any good reason for holding on to this position, other than the power and control she has over the principal and the cheerleaders! Hope you're able to resolve your issue, for the girls' sake. They should not be treated like this, by anyone.
