The City of West Hollywood is currently moving forward on building a $16 million dollar automated electric garage to be connected to city hall.
.The automated features of this proposed garage have no long-term operational track record to demonstrate its stability and capacity to operate with out service interruptions.
..There is no clear demonstrated report or independent analysis the shows that the current parking needs of city hall staff are not being met with parking that is currently being used by them on a daily basis.
.The neighboring residents to where this project will be built are not in support of this being inserted into their neighborhood.
.The current 16 million-doallar price tag is excessive and an irresponsible use of public funds.
.The project lacks a majority of positive support from the residents of the city.
.The future of city hall staying at this location is currently unclear as of today the city manager has requested in the 2013 budget a study to explore moving city hall.
.This is the most expensive approach to adding more parking into this part of the city.
..The funding for this project to date remains unclear since the redevelopment agency of West Hollywood is currently being dissolved because of The California States Governors legislation on the books to phase these local agency’s out.
.The use of $16 Million dollars of resident’s money could be used in other projects that would result in a bigger gain to the residents and city as a whole.
10. The selling of bonds to fund this project will increase the city’s long-term debt and leave the city with an increase in total debt responsibility
