Last memorial day 2011 game warden David Loewen of Helena Montana was contacted by four U.S. forest service employees stating they had found an orphaned Mt. Lion Cub. The group stated that the cub was in bad condition but responding great to food and was sitting up on his own and drinking from a bottle. David Loewen directed them to meet him at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Helena Mt. The group left the cub with him there only to find out days later that Loewen had no intention of rehabilitating the cub but instead chose to euthanize it with exhaust at the tailpipe of his FWP truck.
This behavior is unacceptable and inhumane. Please help spread the word about the actions of David Loewen. Ask individuals to write a letter to Warden Captain Sam Sheppard and request that David Loewen be fired or asked to step down from his position as game warden.
Included below is the contact information for Warden Captain Sheppard and Warden Loewen! Please sign this petition and show Warden Sheppard and Loewen that this kind of behavior is not acceptable. Ask David Loewen to resign from his position as warden. Also please write a letter to Captain Sheppard and tell him he needs to respond to this behavior and fire David Loewen!

This man is a poor example of a game warden,he needs to go! He's obviously as sick as the demented people out there killing innocent animals everyday!

What the warden did was wrong and totally unnecessary.

This incompetent fool needs to lose his job, to begin with. Isn't it part of the job to try and rehabilitate orphans, not murder them. I say fine him, fire him and ban him from ever working anywhere near animals again. Jail would also be appropriate here for animal cruelty.

David Loewen hurt that animal, and should have given the cub to someone else if he didn' want to look after it. He did something wrong, and he should be disciplined or even fired.

Put in a priviledged position to conserve the animal and plant specie and murdering and or killing an innocent baby animal is on the opposite end of the spectrum, we don't want that type of human responsible for conservation.
