Walmart owners and management: Leave Christmas shopping for Black Friday

This is so important to me because
- Commerce should NOT be before family on the priority list
- I love my family
- I love Thanksgiving
- Thanksgiving is for family, NOT for shopping
- It is okay to keep ONE DAY a year where ALL stores close
- My sister works at Walmart and will have to miss Thanksgiving completely, rather than just leave unreasonably early to get some sleep for her long, long, long, Black Friday at work
- My other sister works for Sears who, unfortunately follow what Walmart leads
- ALL of Walmart's employees deserve a day to relax before working on Black Friday
- It is called Black FRIDAY, not Thursday

People need a break. Retail hours have gotten out of hand.

I'm so tired of all this commercialism and the sanctity of our holidays being affected by someone else's greed

I remember when I was a little girl when Black Friday would come and me and my mom would go shopping. The stores did not open until 5 or 6am.

As a concerned employee for a major retail giant, it is unfair to all employees who have to spend their Thanksgiving day sleeping so they can go to work that night. And then there are some who have to work during Thanksgiving Day like at Walmart. My sister is one of those people.

I myself have to screw up my sleeping schedule, and stay up all night 2 nights in a row (tonight so I can sleep all day before work) and then all night Thursday / Friday morning and is expected to work 16 hrs with only 2, 30-min breaks during my entire shift.

As someone who needs a job and needs the money, I must do it. But is it good for my health or anyone's health? No it isnt. Do you think my job or any job cares? Of course not, because all they care about is 1 thing...the MONEY.

It is TIME that we as a society we gather together and stand together and start demanding NO work, NO Black Friday Sales until 5am!

Allow employees to enjoy their holiday with family and get a good nights rest. And for all those crazy shoppers out there, wouldn't you rather be in a nice warm bed then standing outside in the freezing temps all night, and fighting over merchandise that stores WILL get more of in time. And then have to sleep away Black Friday because you were up all night?

And think back of all the people who have gotten injured and even KILLED over what? A sale item? Is a life of a human being really that worth it? Think about that before you stand in line on Thanksgiving night. YOUR life or someone you know life could be over in minutes because of people stampeding over people or pushing and shoving.

And if you are one of those people who likes to push and shove, think long and hard before you do. Because that person you are shoving you could end up killing. That person has a family and friends. DO NOT RUIN THEIR CHRISTMAS!

For all Black Friday shoppers, be nice and kind to your cashier and all employees you see at all stores. Because we are having to put away Thanksgiving and stay up all night and work 12-16 hr shifts to serve YOU so you can get your items on sale. Remember if it wasn't for employees sacrifice, you wouldn't have a Black Friday.

Have a SAFE Black Friday everyone and may we PLEASE get Black Friday back where it used to be. Stores open at 5am!

Thanksgiving is a time to be friends and family. Beginning the sales on Thursday takes away from this.

I hope this backfires. I will be spending my thanksgiving and Black Friday at home. I usually would go check out the sales in BLACK FRIDAY but not this year.
