Stop Chick-Fil-A from operating on campus.

Chick-Fil-A's vocal rejection of American values and support of discriminatory groups such as Exodus International and the Family Research Council violates Virginia Tech's Principles of Community (http://www.vt.edu/diversity/principles-of-community.html). On this basis, Virginia Tech should prevent further operation of Chick-Fil-A on campus.

      Woohoo!

I invite anyone to post this address anywhere, including on/in businesses so people can see it not just on-line but in and around town. Ask nicely if you can post a page at places like Eats, Gillies and your favorite hang-outs wherever you are. Print this page or write up your own with the web address. Any and all help is appreciated.

Unfortunately, I don't have the time or ability to get physical signatures, only digital ones.

      Thank you!

94 is more than I thought we'd get. If we get several hundred, I bet we'd at least get in the news with this.

Chick Fil A goes against all the principles that a university stands for. It has no place on campus.

Allowing a business that supports hate onto a university sends the wrong signal to students - it tells them that it is okay to hate, to bully all in the name of money.

I would like to reiterate that Dan Cathy can believe whatever he wants. What is wrong is giving money to hate groups that hurt and marginalize a segment of our society. Although maybe not as bad as high school, college is a time of immense personal growth - and can be a time of great personal trauma, as well. A company that supports hate groups should not be allowed on campus. What message does this send to potentially vulnerable young gay students? Heck, what message does this send to perfectly well adjusted, healthy young gay students?

A company that uses patron’s money to support hate groups of any kind, is not only devious, it demonstrates that it is okay to promote bullying, encourage criminalization of a minority, and eradicate human rights. Such a corporation should not be allowed in a place of learning. Homosexuality is a natural part of human evolution, to promote hate against one class of Americans causes pain to all Americans.

I'm a Hokie. It is disappointing to see my alma mater allows a business on campus that funds discrimination.
