URGENT: Help Stop the Mother of All Anti-Environmental Bills

    1. Sponsored by

      Environmental Defense Action Fund

If you care about the water you drink, the air you breathe, and America's natural heritage, we need you to stand with us right now against the mother of all anti-environmental bills.

The U.S. House is poised to vote this week on the must-pass House Interior Appropriations Bill, which also contains more than 40 amendments and "policy riders."

Some of the most outrageous provisions that have been added include:

-- An amendment that would block EPA from regulating deadly pollution like mercury, smog, and soot from power plants and cement plants.

-- A provision opening up lands immediately next to the Grand Canyon to uranium mining.

-- An amendment stripping Clean Water Act protections for the drinking water sources of 117 million Americans.

-- A provision preventing federal agencies from listing plant or animals species as endangered.

Taken together, these provisions represent the single worst attack on public health and the environment in American history.

Take action right now to urge your members of Congress to oppose this monstrous bill, and to oppose all anti-environment amendments.

I am signing because I care about the health of this nation; both the health of the people and the health of the land. If the House signs this into effect I feel they have done a massive wrong to the country and the people.

People aren't the only living organisms on this planet. Not only will this bill ruin the environment and be a threat to human health, it will be an even greater threat to the health of the species in areas it is targeting. This world strives off balance, organisms depend on other organisms survive, humans are included in this as well. Damaging the ecosystems of these other species will be detrimental, and is therefore a long term threat to our life.
