Urge Michigan's Legislature to Reject HR 5834 and SB1350

    1. Petition by

      National Wolfwatcher Coalition, 501(c)(3)

There is no scientific evidence or peer reviewed research that supports the need for designating the wolf as a "game animal" and a recreational wolf hunting season in Michigan. Michigan legislature does not have the authority to establish rules and regulations for the hunting of game animals.

In Michigan, the Commission of Natural Resources has the exclusive authority to regulate the taking of game and to the greatest extent practicable, utilize principles of sound scientific management in making decisions regarding the taking of game. There must also be a public meeting and an opportunity for public input.

I believe enough of these animals are killed for clothing etc.and killed whether it's against the law or not. With that I do believe if for any reason in the future animals become heavily over populated would ever be the only reason for killing such a beautiful creature. God put us all here for a reason and killing animals to build your self confidence, or to brag to your friends of how you took it's life is extremely sad and pathetic. There are plenty of other things yo keep people busy and unless your life is at risk, killing is killing! So I strongly disagree with this!

This is vital because I love wolves. They are among my favorite wild animals and I want them to thrive. It is now known that wolves pose little threat to cattle and children. Please leave them alone.

Is it just because some people believe there are too many wolves?

This puts all citizens at risk and neither DNR nor trapper takes any responsibility for a dog, child or person's injuries should they fall into these hidden unlimited traps. THEY SHOULD BE SUED. STOP THE KILLINGS ALL TOGETHER. You OWN LAND, PUT UP NO HUNTING SIGNS. Will shot on sight.
