“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the ways its animals are treated” – Mahatma Gandhi
The SAFE Act will prevent horse slaughter from resuming in our country and to permanently stop the shipment of our wild and domestic horses (live exports) to slaughter for other countries, as just happened in Fallon, Nevada on August 18, 2013. Heart-breaking pictures show kill buyer trailers loaded with healthy stallions and another with pregnant mares and foals, loaded for a 5 day + journey with no food or water to slaughter in Mexico.

      Hi SAFE ACT Supporters!
We got promoted today - meaning one of our supporters paid money to send this petition out to a bigger audience of support! Thank you thank you! You all know how much horse slaughter continues to dominate the news. We stopped it in the U.S. with the 2015 fiscal budget taking away funding for the USDA inspectors for horse slaughter. But it takes the SAFE ACT to stop the ongoing cruel live export of horses and burros to slaughter in Canada and Mexico - there is a rally being held worldwide, nationwide on April 26, 2014 in support of the SAFE ACT. Please continue to share the petition for more signatures which will be presented on April 26, 2014 and turn out for the rally in whatever state you are in. https://www.facebook.com/events/256483754514784/285857418244084/?notif_t=plan_mall_activity

Hi Everyone! Well it's been since August that we started this and so far the SAFE ACT has not even come up for a vote. The BLM continues to round-up and hold our wild horses, mustangs and burros captive in their holding pens without any shelter at all and inadequate water. The USFAWS pays kill buyers $1k+ per horse to 'dispose of' the horses they are in charge of. It's just happened to the Sheldon war horses. Slaughter plants are ready to open pending appeal in New Mexico, Missouri and Iowa. I believe without the SAFE ACT that this is where our beloved wild horses will end up - in the slaughter pipeline. Please share if you have signed, contact your legislators and help make the SAFE ACT happen - All this misery, worry and abuse to our horses will end with the passage of the SAFE ACT. Please! Thank you!

Hi Folks! Please share for more signatures - we're in a battle to get Congress to address and pass the SAFE Act - we need every signature we can get: "We did not win wars on the backs of cows and because of that I feel we are beholding to horses in a special way - a debt of gratitude – they served us, they died along side us. Therefore we should not allow them to be slaughtered here or exported for slaughter anywhere. Please step in to get the SAFE Act passed and don’t eat beef at least until we get that accomplished and then maybe just keep that going. HOOAH!

Horses are not slaughter animals. If you are not educated on this fact, please do so. I am not a vegetarian, I do eat meat. I do not eat dog, cat, or horse. Horses are companions, therapy animals, and friends. The needless cruel slaughter must be stopped. If they are in pain. or there is a reason their life cannot continue , they should be humanely put to death. If you choose to eat them, I really don't care, but so far, there is no humane slaughter. Unless and until there is a humane slaughter, horses should not be shipped to this torture.
