Stop the stripping of citizenship from Dominican children of Haitian Ancestry

We, citizens and friends of Haiti, petition the United Nations to step in and stop the Dominican Republic Government from stripping thousands of Dominicans citizens of Haitian Descents of their Dominican citizenship.

This is against established international laws and therefore call on the world body, The United Nations, to prevent this tragedy from happening. If we do not act, thousands of innocent Dominican citizens of Haitian parents, grand parents, and great grand parents will become stateless. The vast majority of those targeted have no connections to any other country and only know the language and culture of the Dominican Republic.

We demand that this law be reversed and those Dominican citizens be allowed to keep their citizenship, and continue to live their lives like any other Dominican citizen.

The decision by the high court in the Dominican Republic to declare anywhere from 250,000 to 400,000 Dominicans who may have Haitian ancestry "not citizens" with a start date of birth of 1929 is simply appalling.

The Dominican Constitutional Court Violates its own Constitution

A principal tenet of international law is that there shall be no ex post facto laws which is also known as the principle of non-retroactivity of the law. Since the world has become a community of nations through the formation of the United Nations, all member states, including the Dominican Republic and Haiti, have incorporated this principle into their own Constitutions as a pledge that there shall abide by this principle.

Haiti Recalls Its Ambassador to Dominican Republic

As Haiti recalled its ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Dominican human rights activists Tuesday announced planned demonstrations across the country in coming days to protest a court ruling that effectively strips citizenship rights from Dominican-born children of Haitian immigrants. According to the Miami Herald, the announcement came after Haiti on Monday recalled its ambassador [...]

I have travelled and will continue to travel to the Dominican and have met many locals. It is not okay that innocent people are being mistreated, and the United Nations has the ability to help.

This is clearly an apartheid, white supremacist, Jim Crowe era, fascist loving, colonial, pro nazi, racist, bigoted white minority ruling government that needs to be stopped

Because there are legitimate Haitians who are trying their best to make themselves a better life. Let's not hold grudges and hold to the past. Not everyone is the same when it comes to bad behavior by a small percentage of these immigrants and descendants of immigrants. Actually, most of Dominican Republic came from African/Haitian blood.
