To The California Senate: Please Vote To Extend California's Film and TV Tax Credit Program

    1. Petition by

      Ed Gutentag

      Topanga, CA

Extending California's Film And TV Tax Credit Program ( or Jobs Program) is important because if California's Senate does not send this bill to Jerry Browns desk for signature, California will continue to allow films that would have been filmed in California to go elsewhere. The movie industry is a legacy industry in California and the people that work on films live in California and spend their money in California at local community business. If California keeps losing this industry to other states, more people that work in the film industry and live in California will move and no longer pay taxes in California which will cause California to fall into a deeper recession.

49 people to go to hit the 1000 mark. This good but represets a small percentage of all the film workers in Los Angeles and all over California. There are over 50,000 members in the IATSE. Someone please let these people know about this petition.

We need more signatures. You see, because of Term Limits in California, most of the legislature was not around when the first bill that then Assemblyman Paul Krekorian wrote. All 688 of you need to pass this along to your friends to make this work.

This bill is critical to working professionals in the industry. SF has seen a boom in productions here greater than in the last 10 years because of the tax credit making it feasible for the industry to film here. The current credit has made an obvious impact to the local economies. If you want to keep people off of unemployment and create jobs I absolutely recommend making this credit permanent.

Please pass the Film and TV Tax Credit Program. It is absolutely necessary to keep film production in California, and will do much to stop California from hemorrhaging hundreds of millions of dollars in lost revenues for CA buisnesses, and wages for CA film workers.
