To save thousands of Canadian wolves from needless slaughter

They want to kill 6,000 wolves to boost the caribou herds numbers by 240 every five years in the oilsands area.
There is scientific evidence proving that a large responsibility of the declining numbers is the amount of industrialisation in the area, but it is the wolves who are going to pay for this, as they are the most cost effective way of saving the herds in peril.

The more signatures and recognition this gets, the better chance of survival for the wolves.

Earthjustice is concerned because tar sands activities are destroying critical wildlife habitat in Alberta, and killing birds that land in toxic wastewater pits, mistaking them for freshwater ponds.

    4. A study saying how disastrous it could be to caribou to kill the wolves

      Natasha Green

This states that since the wolves diet is 80% deer, if you were to kill the wolves, would it really help the caribou? Scientist think not because with the decrease in wolf populations, the deer population will expand and caribou will lose more habitat and feed and more will die as a result.

While not anything new, this does show just how unlikely the killing of wolves will help the situation.

    6. Got some information on the caribou in the area, & the impact of Oil Sands

      Natasha Green

Lets them know why these wolves are being targeted. (Oil Sands wants the caribou habitat for themselves)

Wolves are beautiful, intelligent creatures who are just doing what they have to, to survive, just like everyone else. Does that mean everyone else should be killed off as well!?! NO! So neither should the wolves!

these beautiful animals live in clans. they are a group who care very much for each other with a alpha male and female. they are amazing. they only take what they need to survive. they howel to let the other clans know where there territory is. there is so much to be learnt about and from these amazing creatures.
