Overturn the Supreme Court's "Citizens United" decision of 2010

    1. Petition by

      Victor Salvo

      Chicago, IL

The "Citizens United" ruling granted "personhood" to corporations, giving them the "right" to spend unlimited amounts of money to influence elections - without ever having to disclose where the money is coming from. This has resulted in the unrestrained manipulation of both our economy and the political process by faceless corporations who have put individuals in Congress to write and enact legislation and tax policy that has only benefited the top 1% of the population while crushing the middle and lower classes. This is - literally - destroying America. We will NOT SURVIVE if this is not changed - and only Congress - and the people who elect it - have the power to undo the damage caused by this disastrous Supreme Court ruling.

Giving person hood to corporations is a sure way that sooner or later the president of the US will be elected in a boardroom, controlled by the corporation and the citizen will then bethe enslaved property of the corporation.

“Corporations are ‘fictitious persons,’ having all the rights of individuals to own property and transact business. But corporations are not human; they don’t suffer and bleed, they don’t have consciences or souls, they don’t go to jail. They are legal fictions. Nevertheless they act as if they were individuals, individuals possessing immense wealth and power – and tunnel vision. A corporation is governed by a ‘fiduciary duty,’ which requires that every act must have the aim of maximizing profit. Stop, halt, end of story. So by law, ethics and moral responsibility are irrelevant in matters of corporate policy. Profit is all that matters. The corporation is mechanical, a simplistic construct without a human capacity for nuanced choice.”

      – Richard Bruce Anderson

      “Corporations are people, my friend.”

      – Mitt Romney, 2012 Republican presidential candidate.

We must show government we are citizens that are not blind to the take over of our country and they are not blind to their actions of working to enslave the citizen human that is in fact the only person created by the Maker... BWP... James...

Assigning "personhood" to corporations is, on the face of it, illogical. Does a corporation have one beating heart? Does a corporation have one individual conscience?

This was the Dred Scott decision of our time, the definitive moment of an era that is destined to either bring down the republic or be abandoned on the waste pile of mistakes later corrected in the American democratic experiment.
