The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco: Voluntarily remove your disrespectful mockeries of HRC's marriage equality logo.

In support of marriage equality, millions of Americans have replaced their profile pics on Facebook with a special red version of the Human Rights Campaign's 'equal sign' logo.

In response, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco has posted mockeries of this logo (on Facebook and/or Twitter) -- a 'plus sign', 'division symbol' (now removed - link is a screenshot) and 'man + woman = child' (scroll down on the linked page).

During the recent Supreme Court hearings on marriage equality, the Archdiocese made the 'plus sign' its main profile pic on Facebook.

The Archdiocese has encouraged its followers to share these mockeries across Facebook.

The Archdiocese should instead support marriage equality and voluntarily remove its disrespectful parody graphics from Facebook and Twitter.

UPDATE: 'division symbol' was removed by the Archdiocese after being reported on by Glaad and the LGBT blogs Joe.My.God and The New Civil Rights Movement (all directly or indirectly following our tips).  The other mockeries remain.  This petition has received coverage from KQED (Bay Area PBS/NPR affiliate) and LGBT blogs Towleroad and Queerty

To:
The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco, Most Rev. Salvatore J. Cordileone
Please support marriage equality and voluntarily remove from Facebook and Twitter your disrespectful mockeries of the Human Rights Campaign's red marriage equality logo.

Sincerely,

The Archdiocese of San Francisco has repeatedly forgotten the Golden Rule as it is articulated in Matthew 7:12. Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone should be ashamed of himself.

I see nothing wrong with two men or two women marrying each other. Unfortunately, not everyone is as accepting.

What would Jesus do? He surely would not be as spiteful as your actions have been.
