Baby Brianna Mariah Lopez died on July 19, 2002 after suffering abuse by the hands of her mother Stephanie Lopez, her father Andy Walters, and an uncle Steven Lopez. Stephanie Lopez was sentenced to 27 years in prison after being convicted by a jury of negligently permitting child abuse resulting in death or great bodily harm. Autopsy findings revealed five month old Brianna had suffered "numerous human bite marks throughout her entire body, scraping and bruising injuries, extensive injuries to her head and fatal injuries to her brain, bleeding within membranes around the brain as well as the nerves around her eyes, indicating she had been violently shaken. Brianna's skull had 5-7 day old fractures in two places, on two different bones. Both old and new blood were present, indicating a previous injury to the brain. Brianna had two rib fractures that were weeks old upon her death. The baby also had bucket handle fractures on both thigh bones and a fracture on her left arm. Baby Brianna's anus and vagina were also injured." Currently, Brianna is buried in a pauper's grave as no family members came forward to claim her body. She is buried underneath a cage to keep mourners away. There is a possibility Stephanie Lopez will be eligible for parole in 2016. It is our duty as human beings to let it be known that the life of this child, or any child, is worth much more than a punishment of jail with the privilege of parole being granted in a few short years. Please sign this petition in an effort to keep Stephanie Lopez from being granted parole in 2016. We, the people undersigned, call on the Parole Board of New Mexico to revoke eligibility of parole for Stephanie Lopez, instead requiring she serve all time sentenced for her part in the death of her child, Brianna Mariah Lopez.

Please see attached letter I received from the Parole Board of New Mexico. This will not deter me, or any of the people who truthfully love Brianna, from continuing to fight for this beautiful child. Nor will it make me any less vehement in educating people of Brianna Lopez, her story, and the disgusting reality of child abuse. Please continue signing & sharing this petition, as it is important that the Parole Board sees how many people love and honor Brianna and her memory, which they will, page by page. Thank you all, Megan.

To do what these animals did to that poor defenseless baby shows the true evil that exists in this world. These "people" should NOT be released so they never have a chance to hurt another child!

This child deserved an opportunity. Her so called mother was suppose to protect her and instead neglected the abuse. Stephanie Lopez does not deserve to be with society where she can maybe again mother another child and allow this horrific abuse to repeat itself in another innocent life. She is not a mother, she is a monster. Keep her in.

Cases like this should never happen. Children are a blessing from God and these animals need to pay for the horrible abuse done to this innocent child, to the fullest extent of the law!!!

We as parents should do all we can to protect our children not let others do whatever they want. This was a heinous crime and she should have gotten life for this crime. Even in prison she has a better life then what her baby had.
