Introduce an emergency DREAM Act

    1. Petition by

      Cristina Espinosa

Dear Majority Leader Rep. Boehner:

As the Majority Leader to the House of Representatives we ask that you please introduce an emergency DREAM Act in memory of Joaquin Luna before taking your Christmas or Holiday break.Time is of the essence and we would like to prevent future suicides in light of the despair our DREAM Act youth are experiencing. DREAM Act activists have risked themselves via hunger strikes, deportation, jail and now death as a last resort. The youth have pledged allegiance to our flag and the American way of life is all that they know. Before you say no to introducing an emergency Joaquin Luna DREAM Act on the floor, we urge you to contact Joaquin Luna’s family to read Joaquin’s final suicide note of desperation. It is disheartening and a crushing blow to any human being with a heart. It is our understanding that the Joaquin Luna family will make Joaquin’s note public at a time within their own discretion. We hope you will take our word that the final suicide note is extremely discouraging and heartbreaking. You can clearly see and sense the fear that Joaquin had before he decided to take his own life when he wrote his final prayer in that note. We urge you to contact Diyer Mendoza at (956)599-0163 or Marie Ana Mendoza at (956)862-2407 to read and see that final suicide note for yourself. The DREAM Act passed the House of Representatives in December 2010 and we hope to see that same kind of success this year in hopes of it reaching the Senate this year. It is important to educate our youth, so that they don't feel disenfranchised and later turn up in the gangs of this or any other country. This inevitably will hit us back.We pray that you have compassion towards the children and our youth. We hope you will do everything within your power to put the emergency Joaquin Luna DREAM Act on the floor before taking your Holiday or Christmas break this year.

Sincerely,

The young people that will benefit from the DREAM Act possess untapped potential that if made able to be used, it would greatly benefit America, in economic and national defense respects. These young people have no fault of their own but have proven their ability to help build this country by remaining in good standing and demonstrating their willingness and competence to help build our country.

House Speaker Boehner our country made promise and if it is broken it would be a unforgivable act and a injustice, They fullfilled their obligation and their contract with America was honored. The repsonsibility if gevernment is to run our country with justice.

      Dear Majority Leader Rep. Boehner:

When you solve the misuse of all the entitlement programs this country sponsors and pays for, such as welfare and social security, you will find that immigrants are the least of your problems. We are imprisoning young children for months using them as bait for their parents. Is that what this country is about? These people come here to earn a living, feed their families and get educations. They are not bleeding this country as being accused of. When I stand in line and see Wellfare recipients paying for their groceries and driving home in a new car, immigrants are the least of our problems! You and your constituents are not

doing your jobs. This country was founded

on those trying to achieve something better for themselves. Many of these people are working hard, getting educations. While our own citizens are sitting at home collecting welfare! Solve the right problems and stop

hurting the innocent! I live in the community you grew up in Mr. Boehner. Your own friends and neighbors are hurting right now!

They need good jobs. We need new school buildings. The schools in your neighborhood are falling apart! Get off your high horse and use your position to help people in your own backyard! Our free lunch programs are up to 70% in our schools! What are you doing with your job that is helping Americans? I come from a family of immigrants! From Mexico. They worked hard and fought for this country. My father gave 20 years to the US Army. My brother gave 22! Just as many of those here want to do. Pass the Dream Act NOW

I believe everyone should have right to furthur they're education. Second, by not passing the DREAM Act, is contradicting the No Child Left Behind Act. This country is made of imigrants and it will continue to be unless we all leave and let the Native Americans inherit their land back.
