The State Health Benefit Plan of Georgia controls the healthcare options for over 650,000 of Georgia's state employees and their dependents. 2014 has brought on major changes that have left employees facing high deductibles and upfront costs, one plan type (HRA) and a sole insurance provider. Thousands of state employees have come together to form the group T.R.A.G.I.C. & Friends (Teachers Rally Against Georgia Insurance Changes) to create awareness and petition the Governor, Department of Community Health and legislators to HEAR OUR STORIES and review this detrimental new healthcare plan. Georgia's public servants depend on YOU to ensure that their medical needs are met with affordable options to choose from - options that will not bankrupt us and our families!

The 2014 changes to the SHBP are a temporary fix that do not address long-term funding issues, protect our reserves or ensure that we will have affordable options in 2015 and beyond. It is IMPERATIVE that Georgia's state employees have access to affordable healthcare options in order to care for their families while they dedicate their lives to serving ours! SIGN AND SHARE IF YOU AGREE - ALL are welcome to join our cause!

I did not know about this group, until this afternoon, August 5, 2014. However, just this morning, I was complaining to BCBS, about the higher copays, since the Affordable Care Act was suppose to take effect....as of January 1, 2014. This is a travesty, because Nathan Deal is denying the citizens of Georgia the right to lower healthcare costs, in accordance with the obvious purpose of Obamacare! Citizens of Georgia, my resolution to this, is the suggestion to 'Get Out and Vote!' You can change all of this by changing the political climate of our state in November! Make good use of your vote!!

Because I am a bus driver and don't make a lot of money and if my out of pocket cost are too high, then I can't afford to use the insurance.

Teachers mold the minds of our future, yet so often do not get what is deserved. Teachers join the profession, not for the money, but because they enjoy it. We need to treat fairly, those we trust to mold the minds of our future leaders
