End trapping in Montana

      Billings, MT

In July 2012, Montana FWP commisioners approved wolf trapping along with the wolf hunt for 2012-2013 even though the vast majority of Montanans opposed it. This petetion is to tell Montana's government officials and the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks that trapping any animal is cruel, unethical, barbaric and dangerous and to end ALL forms of trapping on Montana's public lands. These traps not only harm wildlife, they also harm pets and people. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Animals are God's creatures. He surrounds them with his providential care. By their mere existence they bless him and give him glory. Thus we humans owe them kindness. We should recall the gentleness with which saints like St. Francis of Assisi or St. Philip Neri treated animals.

God entrusted animals to the stewardship of those whom he created in his own image meaning us humans. Hence it is legitimate to use animals for food and clothing. They may be domesticated to help human in their  work and leisure.

It is contrary to human dignity to cause animals to suffer or die needlessly. It is likewise unworthy to spend money on them that should as a priority go to the relief of human misery. One can love animals; one should not direct to them the affection due only to persons.

I just signed the following petition addressed to: Montana FWP and Montana's government officials.

Tell Montana officials and the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks that trapping is cruel, unethical, barbaric and dangerous and to ban ALL forms of trapping on Montana's public lands. These traps not only harm wildlife, they also harm pets and people.

Sincerely,

Sincerely,

I am actively emailing the Montana FWP to stop ignoring my emails about banning trapping and sent then this picture of a cat in KY, USA that has it's leg in a trap and had to be amputated.

Because while I believe in wildlife management, I see no reason to torture animals. I will boycott Montana until this kind of killing ends.

I can no longer safely take my dog cross country skiing at Lake Como which is already designated for this purpose. Seems like there are plenty of better places to trap wolves.

It is cruel and inhumane. It is dangerous for dogs. It is just plain wrong!

The dangers that these traps pose to humans and 'non targeted' species are too great to ignore. Horrible and hard to release, so much so that there are workshops to help hikers and others learn how to do so. Please end this horrific behavior in your state. We have in Arizona.
