Sign Budget Bill AB 1464 with no more cuts to child care

California's economic recovery depends on families working, investment in kids for the long term, and revenue solutions.

Since 2008, California’s Child Care and Development system has suffered multiple years of devastating cuts, a loss of over $883 million dollars and the elimination of over 107,262 child care slots. Our quality early care and education delivery infrastructure has already been severely compromised resulting in loss of access for many. More reductions will destroy the pathway to self sufficiency for working families and disconnect the most fragile of children starting at birth from California's decade's rich investment in early care and education.

The importance of California's Child Care and Development system symbolizes the support from our goverment to our people. Quality and safe child care is needed to reach new goals for the future of our young ones.

The cycle of poverty continues to grow when wages are so low that a parent cannot work AND pay for childcare.

We need to invest in children. Cutting children's programs is not the answer to the State's problems.
