- The Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program (SSEAYP) and the Ship for World Youth (SWY) Program, sponsored by the Japanese government, have fostered friendship and greater understanding of culture, history, heritage, customs and religion, etc. among youths from Japan, ASEAN and other nations around the world.
- Those programs have contributed greatly to broaden our multicultural and international perspective necessary to live in the globalized society.

SSEAYP is the most powerful youth program to address friendship and youth issues among Japan and ASEAN's Countries. It is very importan for sustainable relationship between those countries, in present and future. I believe there are many ways to solve problem about discontinue of SSEAYP. Thank you to the Government of Japan for awarding wonderful SSEAYP "a life changing experience" to me and other lucky youth.

I hope SSEAYP would continue. I have always wanted to participate, but so far, circumstances have prevented me from doing so year after year.

SSEAYP has a really good reputation in Brunei and it is one of the goals of many youth here to join it as a rite of passage. It promise to widen our mind. Surely it would be a loss to the youth in ASEAN and Japan. In the modern world where technology seems to start dominating and our cultures are slowly fading out of daily life, we need something to share the unique cultures from different parts of the world while at the same time preserving our own.
