Keep West Philadelphia Catholic High Open

    1. Petition by

      Unknown Burrs

West Catholic became a Co-Educational on September 8, 1989 and was due to be closed sometime in June of this year. West Catholic was not giving the chance to be merged with another school. So now instead of of Juniors looking for colleges they are busy looking for the next high school to start over at. West Catholic is a FAMILY and we would like to keep that tradition going. So Please Sign This Saying You Support The WEST CATHOLIC BURRS... Thanking you in advance.

West Catholic is a part of who I am. My mom and all 4 of her sisters and 2 brothers graduated from West Catholic. My husband and 3 of his siblings graduated from West Catholic also. I am and always will be PROUD to say that I am a graduate of West Catholic High School.

My family moved to Southwest Philadelphia when I was part-way through the seventh grade. We then moved back to Delaware County when I was begining senior year. I continued to commute to West by public transportation. My brother John was a sophomore at the time. He also commuted to West and graduated in 1960.

It is hard to put into words the reasons for both of us wanting to finish our education at West. It was like West was a magnetic field that we were being drawn to, or gravity pulling us back. Whatever it was, we will always be grateful for the Christian Brothers and the quality education we received.

The spirit of the Burrs will never die!!!!!.
