Bring an end to the Electoral College

We need to move American Democracy to a place where every America Citizen has one vote and it matters as much as any other American citizen.Today, in America, the Electoral college ensures Presidential candidates spend obscene amounts of money, and time, courting voters in key swing states instead of focusing on the broader issues that really matter to the majority of Americans.

In 1969/1970 the US Government came close to abandoning the Electoral College (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electoral_College_(United_States)#Bayh.E2.80.93Celler_Amendment) but a filibuster brought that effort to an end.
If enough Americans demand this change we can eliminate this outdated institution and bring America a step closer to being a true democracy where EVERY vote matters.

I feel that every vote should count. Even if I do not agree with my neighbor's way of voting their vote should still count as much as mine. The electoral college system basically leaves some of us without a voice. We do not count.

May as well, it really serves no purpose.

The Electoral College does not accurately reflect the voice of all Americans. The disparity between the popular vote and electoral vote needs to be eliminated so that each vote really does count.
