Please sign the petition so we can obtain a manager who has the trust of the people, and funds can again be successfully raised to properly respect and preserve the Alamo and the memory of our patriots and heroes. The Attorney General's Report to the Legislature clearly explains the shortcomings of the Daughters managing the Alamo, but the General Land Office intends to keep them at the Alamo and "move on". The opening paragraph of the 38 page report says" This report reflects the Office of the Attorney General’s ("OAG") conclusions and factual findings after conducting a comprehensive, year-and-a-half-long investigation into the Daughters of the Republic of Texas ("DRT"). The OAG’s investigation concluded that the DRT failed to fulfill its fiduciary duty to the State of Texas as trustee of the historic Alamo. Specifically, the DRT did not properly preserve and maintain the Alamo, misused state funds for the organization’s own benefit, failed to recognize or address conflicts of interest, and allowed its own organizational prerogatives to interfere with its duty to act in the best interests of the State of Texas and the Alamo. Additionally, when legislative committee hearings were convened to review the DRT’s stewardship of the Alamo, testimony by the DRT’s representatives was less than forthright and failed to disclose material information to the Texas Legislature."

The Alamo is the most sacred shrine in Texas. We must have a manager who believes this and will protect it and its contents. I would be honored to help out.

It is necessary for proper care and respect for everything concerning and or pertaining to the Alamo. I dont think they have the experience or the knowledge required to do business and represent the state of Texas and the city of San Antonio that is needed. It is time the management was updated.

It is long overdue that the Alamo compound is run by a professional body.
