Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners and the American Medical Association

Revoke the medical license of Dr Scott DesJarlais for ethics violations

    1. Petition by

      Sarah Slidell

Scott DesJarlais, a doctor and also a Congressman representing Tennessee, has admitted to having sexual relations with his patients after national news reports disclosed a phone call he made to a patient that first came to him with a foot injury. He admits to having sex with the patient and the transcript reveals he called her to tell her that she needed to get an abortion and that he was willing to go with her to do it.

Doctors like this should not be allowed to practice in the state of Tennessee, or any other state that values reasonable ethical standards from their licensed physicians.

Scott DesJarlais has acted outside the ethical standards and he should not have a medical license. It's difficult for women to see a male doctor as it is. Many of those men are professionals and women are better off when they open up to those men with private details about their lives. You expect your doctor to treat you responsibly. You do not expect them to progress a sexual agenda while they are treating you. That is action unbecoming and it should not go unpunished.

Sign this petition and tell the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners and the American Medical Association to revoke the medical license of Dr. Scott DesJarlais for violating state ethics rules.

EDIT: I am editing this petition to include a link to the Chattanooga Times Free Press article with new revelations about Dr. Scott DesJarlais. Another woman has stepped forward to say that DesJarlais not only smoked marijuana during the course of their relationship, he also prescribed pain medication while on dates at his home. This doctor is beyond irresponsible and should never be allowed to treat another patient ever again in Tennessee.

No doctor is any state should be allowed to carry on a sexual relationship with a patient nor should they use their respected office a place to troll for ass.

Scott's lies and hypocracy are a disgrace to Southern, and for that matter, anyone's values.

A politician, physician, and a human as corrupt as he his has to be held accountable to someone, anyone. He really should resign from public office and medicine, but he won't. Accountability is important to us ; isn't it?

The way women are being treated ,especially those with bladder mesh and the doctors and nurses that treat them so cruel,. When the TENNESSEE MEDICAL BOARD DOES NOTHING TO GET DOCTORS AND NURSES THAT DID SURGERY, AND WAS SARCASTIC NOT TO ANSWER WOMEN, , NOT EVEN WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO MY BODY ETC. More needs to be done to weed out those doctors and nurses, and more than this 1 is on drugs, I feel like I am dying having gone through 2 surgeries to correct what 2 doctors and nuses did to me, 4 years suffering, and doctors will not answer patients question. this is sorry for medical boards to not do anything, I am dying, because of neglect and not caring in medical professiion, I was told I asked to many questions , and I am crazy. by 1. doc. I could write a book of suffering , in the past 4 years , and cruel docs. and nurses.

The way this doctor has blatantly and openly abused his position should not be tolerated.
