Tell Republicans: Don't Repeal DADT Repeal

    1. Sponsored by

      Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee

It was a huge step forward for equality and fairness when President Obama signed the law repealing Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.

But now, radical Republicans have amended legislation that allows for funding our military to keep discriminatory policies in place.

Take action today to tell Republicans that discriminating against people who put their lives on the line for our nation is despicable, and it must end.

Discrimination is wrong, and I won’t stand silently by as Republicans fight against equal treatment for gay and lesbian service members.

This is discrimination, out right wrong. A soldier is a soldier regardless of his or her sex. What if one of our greatest football players or musical legends came out as gay? Would that make them any less legendary? NO! BEcause they were fantastic at what they did regardless. This should apply to our soldiers in the military, ESPECIALLY them! They are fighting for our country! Dying to protect it! Now you want to chastise them because of their sexual orientation when they are doing something for our country? The ones trying to repeal this repeal are the ones that have it backwards. If they still won't let our soldiers fight for their sexual orientation, than the ones trying to repeal this repeal should fight for our country in their place, on the frontlines. Then they can see what these men are women are doing for your country.

Homosexuals have long served successfully in the armed forces that defend our country. It is time that the country they defend stop treating them as though they are not as worthy of the honor of serving in the armed forces.

Gay people are as human as the people around them.

I am a veteran and served in Iraq. The government really needs to stop screwing around on this issue. It doesn't matter who you are, what you look like, or who you love. All people deserve to be treated with respect and fairness. That is the foundation of America (all men are created equal), and I served so that everyone could enjoy freedom!
