Tell President Obama To Stop Secure Communities Now

    1. Petition by

      Long Island Wins

The misnamed Secure Communities program purportedly targets high-level criminal offenders, but, in reality, the vast majority of deportations through the program have been of low-level offenders and non-criminals.

Several states have opted out of the program, but the federal government refuses to recognize those decisions.

Take a moment to email President Obama and tell him to stop S-Comm.

This "secure communities" program is utterly misguided and flagrantly unjust. It is another nod to the bigots on the right who appear to be driving this country's moral engine. Once again, we need a President willing to stand against them, not one who can give in to them in the name of compromise. Compromise with bigots is capitulation.

Secure Communities is misguided: families are being split up. We need comprehensive immigration leagl reform that will deal with the issues in a fair and compassionate manner.

Secure Communities doesn't make anyone secure; it just jails and deports people who are not any threat to anyone and ties up resources that could be used somewhere else.
