Tell Houston SPCA to stop killing pit bulls!

According to the Houston SPCA website they claim to be "Houston’s first and largest animal protection organization and shelter." Their mission is "to promote commitment to and respect for all animals and free them from suffering, abuse and exploitation." So howcome Houston SPCA kills all pit bulls immediately after they are brought in? No rescues are notified! No chance for adoption or fostering is given! Also how can Animal Planet allow HSPCA to be a part of their show?

Pit bulls deserve the chance to be rescued or adopted out! They are a loving, loyal breed who should not be discriminated against. As animal lovers we should promote responsible breed ownership through education and help to aid in adoption of pit bulls to responsible individuals or families. Owners who abuse, abandon or fight these dogs should be the ones punished! It should not be this innocent, loving breed! It is our responsibility as humans to protect them. Please stop the killing of pit bulls & allow rescues & responsible owners a chance to give this wonderful breed a forever loving home!

I have two pits bulls one was rescued when he was six weeks old and nine & years later he is still the joy of our families lives.. The other pit bull we have had for two years she brings us great joy also our dogs names are Sampson and Butterscotch we had a third pit but lost her to cancer on June 11 2013 her name was Sasha these dogs are the greatest the most loyal loving animals you could ever have they are not what some people make them out to be based mainly on hear say and what they read in the paper. They say they can't get along with other animals such as cat's and smaller dogs well my pits have a little friend we call Willy he is a Chorkie he is five & half pounds plays with my 75 pound pits the funniest thing you can ever watch but the point is there are too many ignorant people out there for example for every pit bull attack that you hear about or read about that animal has probably been fought starved and abused mentally as well physically for a long time not to say this doesn't happen to other dogs because we all know this does happen but because this breed is only known for its fighting skills we deem it not worthy of saving. Well I say to all you ignorant uneducated or possibly very educated people read up on this animal understand what you are reading because if you happen by chance to have the courage to be around a pit you will change your mind and that's how we change our thinking about the negative things we hear about them..

All breeds of animals should be treated exactly the same! No breed is "better" or "worse" than another. It is all in the upbringing and treatment of an animal. More laws against humans & their behavior is needed!

Killing any animal just because they are a specific breed is racist! HUMANS make animals mean, NOT the breed! Pitbulls are the sweetest most caring dogs. All they want to do is be a lap dog and give you constant kisses. And your BSL law that's trying to be passed on these poor helpless animals is discrimination!
