Tell Craigslist to Make REAL Change in the Adult Services Section of Craigslist!

September 2010

It took over two years of hard campaigning by some of the leading anti-trafficking organizations in the U.S., along with support from over 10,000 members, but Craigslist finally shut down their adult services section in the U.S. After mounting complaints of sex trafficking on the site, the company instituted anti-trafficking policies which ultimately failed to end the use of the site to traffick kids. At a Congressional hearing on child sex trafficking, they announced the section was closed and would not re-open.

Last year, announced they would remove their erotic services section.  The announcement came after pressure from the anti-trafficking community and complaints that Craigslist was being used widely to promote prostitution, sometimes involving children and human trafficking victims.

However, that section has been replaced with an adult services section which contains many of the same ads, though now thinly disguised as legal erotic services.  The change has been in the title alone, not in the content.

Sign up today and tell Craigslist to make a real change in the adult services section and refuse to promote the exploitation of women and children.

The average age at which young girls first become prostitutes in America is 12 to 14 years old. Twelve to 14. They don't look like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman and they sure don't get treated like her. No nice man rescues them and buys them...
