Tell Congress to protect programs that fight global hunger

    1. Sponsored by

      Mercy Corps

Food prices reached record highs this year – and the number of people going to bed hungry each night is growing. Today, a child will die from hunger-related causes every 9 seconds.

Right now, Congress is considering cutting funding for programs that combat global hunger – programs that make up less than one-tenth of 1% of the federal budget, but feed millions of people worldwide. If we don’t act now, even more people could go hungry.

Help us send 5,000 messages to Congress – take action today.

      Thank you, Mercy Corps!

You did a remarkable job of writing a story with pictures that show "normal" but people with hardship. Over history, many stories that solicit support against hunger and poverty have " required" pictures of children with distended bellies, or deformities and with few clothing on.

if we can afford to subsidize bloated oil companies, we can afford to send a few millions to help starving people throughout the world. This will show America isn't "only" made up of greedy self serving corporations.
