Tell Congress: Stop the War on Women

    1. Sponsored by

      EMILY's List

Republicans are waging an all-out war on women -- and we need to stop them in their tracks.

Even after voters rejected an initiative in Mississippi that would have banned all abortions in the state, even for victims of rape or incest, Congressional Republicans have introduced three bills copying the Mississippi initiative.

The GOP’s War on Women just doesn’t stop. Earlier this fall, Congressman Cliff Stearns (R - FL), chair of a House oversight subcommittee, launched a far-reaching investigation against one of the most important providers of health care for American women -- Planned Parenthood. It’s a modern day witch hunt.

Rather than creating jobs for Americans, Republicans are pushing a reckless agenda to deny women and their families access to critical health care services like cancer screenings, maternity care, and contraception. They want to get rid of Planned Parenthood once and for all.

In this battle, we have strong allies: EMILY’s List champions in the Senate like Barbara Mikulski, Patty Murray, and Kirsten Gillibrand -- but we need to grow their ranks. Having more pro-choice, Democratic women in office will mean that anti-choice, anti-woman legislation never sees the light of day.

Republicans are more committed than ever to an extreme agenda that shreds the social safety net American women need to take care of themselves and their children.

The campaign to Stop the War on Women needs your voice. Tell the Republicans NO:

-- NO to taking away the rights and freedoms of American women.

-- NO to threatening the health of millions of women and their families.

-- NO to sneak attacks on women's right to choose.

Take action today. Speak up and tell Republicans NO to the War on Women.

I am signing this because I believe in a PERSON'S right to choose. HOWEVER, I also believe in a MALE PERSON'S right to choose, as well, and I think it is high time that men get equal representation in pre-birth right to not be a parent. I do not advocate that a man be able to force a woman to terminate, just that, since a woman has a right to choose not to bring a child into the world (dependant on them), that a man should have the right not to have a child born dependant on them, either. The only effective way to do this would be to allow a window of opportunity for the man to terminate parental rights and responsibilities that includes some cost to him (a fee or a penalty). That is the only way that it could be made even approach being balanced and fair. I know there will be those who disagree with me, saying that it puts women in a precarious position regarding support IF they get pregnant and want to keep the child. BUT, keeping the child is a choice. And they can choose to keep it, and raise it, or to give it up for adoption. Regardless, women have more choices than men do.

The government shouldn't tell us what we can do to our bodies no matter what, where would it end?

Because as human beings, we all have inalienably human rights not to mention civil rights. Only a victim truly understands what it feels like to have your Human & Civil Rights blatantly violated as my family and I well understand as victims ourselves. . I am a US Veteran, blatant public corruption & murderous criminals have made us refugees in own Nation the United States of America while the VA made it far worse and the FBI did nothing to stop the total destruction of our lives.

A Veteran who protected other Veterans is betrayed by the Veterans Affairs in a deadly way. How to setup a premeditated attempted murder of a VA Federal Police Officer (& US Veteran) without a criminal investigation or punishment just leave it to the VA.

      American Justice or FBI cover-up?

I'm a resident of Mississippi, and I voted NO on Initiative 26. I voted no, not only for myself, but for my daughter. I believe our generation is called to empower our daughters' generation.
