Incorporate captions into movie showings!

People who are deaf or hard of hearing often cannot understand the dialogue in films without the help of subtitles. Not including subtitles makes the theater going experience inaccessible for a subset of Americans. This is morally wrong as well as in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

This is exactly what this petition is about. There's no reason why this technology or technology similar to it can't be implemented at many other different movie theaters and by other movie theater companies across the country.

captions would help Deaf/HI, people with language-processing differences, and English learners. might even be good for kids who are learning to read. On the other hand, it would hurt nobody.

I have always loved going to the movies, and I don't see any reason why people who are deaf or hard of hearing should not be able to enjoy films on the big screen. Adding captions to all films would make the movies 100% more accessible to hearing-impaired people while not impeding the experience of others.

I am not hearing-impaired but I believe that increasing accessibility will be nothing but good.

I'm autistic and hard-of-hearing. I often need captions to understand my movies. My grandfather and his fiance are deaf. It is rare that they're able to go out to movies because few theaters offer captions. Please do the right thing and make theaters accessible for the Deaf community. It's time for companies to stand up, be moral, and stop blatantly violating laws. Our lives are hard enough. Do the right thing.
